Yes. In order to earn credit, you must register through this site.

What are the benefits of registering?
The benefits of registering are early notification of CME/CE events in your area along with new programs to earn credit.

How much does it cost?
It does not cost anything to register through this site.

How do I register?
To register, click the login link located in the header section on any page. You will be directed to the login area where you will find a link for registration.

How can I change my registration information?
You must log in to change your registration information. Once logged in, you will see the login link change to "My Account". Click on that link to see the options that you have - one of which is to change your personal information.


Earning Credit

How do I Earn Credit?
In order to earn credit, you must register through this site. See registration FAQ's above. Once registered and logged in, click on the tab "Earn Credit." This will direct you to a page where you will be able to choose from a number of educational activities available for earning credit.

How do I find activities with the number of credits I need?
Most activities on this site have a summary and a detail section. The number of available credits can be found in one or (in many cases) both sections. All activities that provide (or offer) credit can be found in the "Earn Credit" section. The tab to get to the "Earn Credit" section can be found on the main menu bar located in the header section of every page.

How can I find live accredited activities in my area?
Most activities on this site have a summary and a detail section. The type of activity can be found in one or (in many cases) both sections. How do I find activities with the type of credit I need?

What types of credit are available?
The types of credit that are currently available are CME and CE.

What is the difference between the different types of credit?
Physicians and physician assistants obtain CME credit.  Nurse practitioners and nurses obtain CE credit.

Can I complete accredited activities through the mail?
Some activities are provided as "Home Study" activities which you can request to have sent to you. An online request form will always be available for these types of activities. Upon completion you will request your certificate via mail in most cases. Although some will also give you the option to complete the certification process online. Instructions and options will always be provided with every activity.

How can I order hard copies of the materials?
Unless an activity is provided as a "Home Study" activity, materials are not available for ordering. Activity materials are available online in Multimedia and PDF formats. Like all PDF pages on the web, if you want a hard copy, you can simply print it on your printer at home or office. Because of the technical nature of Multimedia activities (audio and moving video) can only be experienced online and in most cases cannot be printed easily.

Will I receive documentation of my credit?
Yes. Upon completion of an online program, a certificate will automatically be generated. Upon completion of a live event or home study materials, you must submit the appropriate information in order to receive a certificate.

How long does it take to receive my credit?
Online programs provide instant credit and will allow you to print your certificate right from this web site, whereas live event and home study materials may take up to a few weeks.

For how long are activities available for credit?
The release and termination date of the activity is located on the full description of the activity.

What happens to the information when the accreditation expires—can I still find it?
Once the accreditation expires, the activity will move to the CME/CE archives under Resources.

Can you notify me when new accredited activities are available?
Yes. 

Can I check how many credits I have earned so far?
Yes. Once you are logged on, you will have the option to see the activities that you have gotten certification for and will have the option to print your certificates when needed.

For how long are records of credit maintained?
At present there is no expiration date for records.


Newsroom Questions

How is the information in the Newsroom organized?
The Newsroom is organized by type of articles.  "In the News" contains the most recent articles regarding the biologic agents. "Physicians in the News” contains articles featuring key thought leaders in dermatology.  “Public Policy” highlights new information affecting CME and CE guidelines.

How often do you update your information?
The information on the site is the most up to date information containing articles from popular publications such as the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology.  The information is constantly being updated per the release of new information. 

Where does the information come from?
The information comes from top publications, key thought leaders and national academy meetings.

Is the material in the Newsroom page copyrighted?
Yes.

The news article I read in this section a while ago is gone now. Where can I find it?
News articles are removed from the web site after a six month duration.

Can I provide feedback or an alternative opinion on an article?
Yes. A feedback form is located on every page. If you would like to provide feedback on an article, please reference the article in the feedback form.

Technical Troubleshooting

What are the Hardware/Software requirements?
This site is compatible with standard Windows PC and Mac computers. Other than standard HTML pages (which you are reading right now), we make use of Adobe's PDF and Flash formats. Most computers, especially Windows PC's, already have the necessary software installed. In some cases you will need the latest version of these but not always. To obtain the latest versions please visit Adobe's web site using the following links:

What browsers are compatible with this site?
This site is compatible with all major web browsers such as Windows Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, and Safari for Mac. While not all browsers have been tested, the site has been designed with the most current methods which should make it compatible with browsers that are HTML W3C compliant.

Do I have to enable Javascript to view this site?
Javascript is used to identify you as a registered user and to help manage your account. If you are going to apply for credit, which means you'll need to register, then yes, you will need to have Javascript enabled.

Is this site compatible with dial-up access?
While this site is compatible with dial-up access, your Multimedia experience will be more enjoyable with a high speed connection. Some activities are delivered online with audio and video which may experience delays on a slow connection.

What screen resolution does this site use?
The site has been optimized for screen resolutions starting at 800x600 to ensure compatibility with as many users as possible.

Why can't I log on?
If you are experiencing issues logging on you should first check if Javascript is enabled on your computer. You can verify that you are using the correct logon id and password by choosing the "Forgot info..." link on the login page. Your id and password will be emailed to you.

What if I forget my password?
To have your user id and password emailed to you, simply choose the "Forgot info..." link on the login page.

Why do I get "Page not found..." errors?
There are various reasons why a "Page not found..." error can occur:

  • A page has been moved by our webmaster and the link has not yet been updated. This web site is equipped with special alerts that trigger a message to the webmaster when an error occurs. You can expect the problem to be corrected within 24 hours.
  • The visitor is coming to the web site from a search engine like Google or Yahoo. Search engines don't update as often as we like. When we change a page or remove it from our web site, it can take weeks before the search engines realize the change.
  • A bad connection can trigger a "Page not found..." error. In most cases refreshing the page will fix this problem.

Why can’t I hear the audio part of the activity?
Audio on this web site uses standard audio technology which doesn't require any special handling for the visitor. Always check that the speakers are turned on, the volume is up, and that your computer audio controls are set properly. On a Windows computer you can find the audio controls in the Control Panel.

Why can’t I see the video part of the activity?
We use various formats to deliver rich video content. The main ones are Flash Video, Windows Media, and Quicktime Movies. Unless otherwise noted, you can assume that the video is a Flash video. Flash offers the most reach in terms of compatibility and most users already have the necessary software to play Flash video. Because we use the latest methods of delivery you should always check that your computer has the latest version of the Flash player. You can obtain the latest version form Adobe's Flash web site

Why can't I access the PDF file for the activity?
If you are having problems viewing one of the PDF files on this site, you should download the latest version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader. It can be found on Adobe's Acrobat web site

Why can’t I access the evaluation form?
If you have already completed the evaluation form for a particular activity, you will not be presented with the option again since the system recognizes it's completion. If you have not done the evaluation and get an error when trying to do the evaluation then it's possible that you require a more updated version of Flash. You can obtain the latest version form Adobe's Flash web site

How is my personal information protected?
Personal information is kept entirely within our network and is not shared with anyone at any time.

How do I log on?
To log on, click the login link located near the header area of any page. Once you have entered in your User Name and Password, click the "Log in" button. If you have forgotten your logon information, a link is provided on the login page that you may use to have it sent to you via email.
